Home for the BLS is the peaceful community of Radhadesh, nestled in the hills and forests of the Belgian Ardennes, yet only 100km from the heart of the European Union — Brussels.

BLS is directly across the road from the Chateau de Petite Somme, which houses the temple. BLS occupies a converted 19th-century barn, incorporating a showroom, a storeroom, and a fully computerised mail order centre.

Goals

To widely distribute Srila Prabhupada's books and those the past Gaudiya Vaisnava Acaryas and contempory authors, as well as related audio and video materials, and other related items.

To provide a friendly, devotional, and efficient service to all its customers.

As a non-profit organization BLS maintains its devotees in a simple manner and uses extra income to support the international Bhaktivedanta College project also situated in Radhadesh.

Details

BLS was born on the road. From 1988 till 1995 Visnu Murti Dasa travelled widely throughout Europe and the UK distributing the latest offerings from the Bhaktivedanta Archives in devotees homes and temples. Gradually he expanded to offer a full range of devotional literature.

At the end of 1995, BLS set up a base at Radhadesh, which now after 18 years has grown into a very stable outlet of transcendental books for the Vaisnava community. BLS has developed a mail order service, while maintaining a traveling presence at devotee festivals and gatherings all over Europe with their bookmobile named Garuda Shrinivasa.

In 2000 BLS took it upon themselves to establish the upcoming Bhaktivedanta College. They initially funded it and set up the infrastructure for its successful incorporation. BLS offered its non profit organisation for the College to develop; thus from 2002, BLS became officially known as Bhaktivedanta College a.s.b.l. After four years of intense service for the College in 2004 Visnu Murti went back to concentrating on the developments of BLS which remains his most important mission.
