A feature of ISKCON books has been the inclusion of original paintings
of traditional Vaisnava subjects. The Bhaktivedanta Book Trust (BBT), the
publishing house instituted by Srila Prabhupada is nurturing this tradition by
offering a free seminar to qualified applicants.
The first seminar will be held in ISKCON's spiritual heartland,
Vrindavana, in India's Uttar Pradesh state. It enables artists to
associate with and learn from well-known BBT artists, Dhrti Dasi and Ramdasa
Abhirama Dasa.
The seminar, run by BBT Special Projects, aims to give students the chance to
learn new techniques, understand the devotional nature of painting spiritual
subjects, and to learn Srila Prabhupada's instructions about
painting.
Each student will be painting a Radha-Krsna scene of their choosing in oils
on canvas.
Applications for this year's seminar are closed, but the organisers hope
to make this an annual event.
